HRT reduces prevalence of hot flashes and vaginal dryness. It has also shown protective functions against postmenopausal conditions like osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases. For those suffering from irregular bleeding, oral contraceptive pills may be recommended. They give relief to hot flashes and also prevent contraception during the perimenopausal period or the early onset of menopause symptoms. The use of vaginal hormone creams may be used to remedy itching and dryness.

Since hot flashes are very common among menopause symptoms, use of plant estrogens is also advised, along with red clover and black cohosh as herbal preparations. Other herbs that may cool one’s feelings include chickweed, elder and violet.

Regular exercising for about 30 minutes three times a week will help reduce the onset of hot flashes. Women in their menopause should also refrain from eating spicy foods, drinking coffee and alcohol. These contribute to the severity of the irritating burning sensation or warm feeling among women. Soybean intake, especially in premenopausal stage, lowers incidences of hot flashes.

In the case of night sweats, ensure that your bedroom has better ventilation and wear comfortable cotton clothes and bed linen. Drinking many glasses of water will also help you get proper hydration even if you sweat heavily at night.

Your diet should also be rich in vitamins and minerals with fruits and vegetables in every meal. Moisturizing one’s body using creams and lotions may also help to get rid of irritating feeling of dryness. Take enough sleep as much as possible to relax your body. Have an open mind that menopause is a part of life and enjoy life as you age. Other natural remedies may be provided as you visit your doctor.
